We had a wonderful time these past few days visiting Chad! We stayed in Gulfport near the Navy Base. There was yet another group of guys arriving back from Iraq this weekend so Chad was very busy checking them in and starting their demobilization process. They had put up signs all over base welcoming them home which was awesome. On Saturday I took my parents down to New Orleans since they had never been. They could not believe how much still needs to be rebuilt(especially homes). My dad enjoyed seeing the Superdome and we took a horse/carriage ride all through the French Quarter,Bourbon street ect...A BIG highlight was when our driver J.R showed us the home that Angelina Jolie&Brad Pitt bought when Brad was filming his movie there last year! Just to stand where Brad stood....Ahh pricesless!LOL. We were going to eat at Nolas(Emeril Lagossi's restaurant)but it was jammed packed. The most beautiful thing we saw in Orleans was a wedding in Jackson Square!! The bride rode up in a white horse&buggy and the wedding was right outside in the cathedral courtyard. The flowers had bloomed and the weather was warm...just perfect! I am so glad we got to spend some time with Chad. We spent Easter Sunday driving back home ALL day. ~Thank you for all the prayers for a safe trip~
